Little eggs embroidery

I thought I would share with everyone some photos of
Sabrina’s embroidery from our weekend away

If anyone had told me 10 years ago when I first went to girls day in the country
where I first met some of you lovely ladies that one day
One of my girls would be sitting beside me
Doing embroidery
I would never have believed you

But here it is
This was the first time Sabrina has done embroidery
I think she tinkered with some back stitch at one point
But really didn’t love it

But this design
Of our very own clever Sonia
Really sparked her interest.

As the weekend progressed
i sat with my heart swelling with pride as i watched
her design slowly grow

not just because she is my daughter and i am
 immensely proud of her

but also because i watched as each of you came over to her
to encourage her
and guide her as she progressed.

i was proud to watch you all reach out to my daughter
with love and friendship

i am truly blessed to have such amazing friends

bless you all

The Kiwi has landed

Wow! is all I can say after a fabulous retreat!!
Thank you all for your conversations, company and friendship over the last weekend.
I must admit to thinking "what have I done?!" when I realised the enormity of what I'd let myself in for..... away from home in a different country with a group of people who I barely knew!!
But I had a blast :-)

When I think about the weekend, it isn't what I sewed that stands out, it is the companionship (and laughs) that I think of.
So thank you all.
A special thanks to Chooky and Sonia, and their cohorts, for organising the weekend. And to Kiwikid Sue for her roadtripping company.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!!!

Raewyn

(Sorry no photos - haven't sorted through them yet!!)

Peta's Thankyou

Good morning everyone,
I would like to say thank you very much to each and every one of you.
I felt so honoured to have met you all and to have be in
your company for the past 5 days.

I have enjoyed walking around discovering the lovely town of Baradine,
meeting new friends, the beautiful conversations,
the laughs and of course the sewing.

I have learnt so much from everyone and feel recharged in life and in my sewing.
I am looking forward to completing some projects ready for next years show and tell.
A big thank you to Donna, Sonia and all others who were involved in the retreat.
You did an amazing job!
I feel very blessed to have been a part of it.

Sunday - Packing

So this time next week, I will be packing with exhaustion, and sadly heading home.

I love my tribe, you make my heart sing and I know that
When we are together.

Looking forward to catching up with you all in just 3/4/5 sleeps

Just some housekeeping as I pack the kits into boxes today.

Please remember this weekend is all about enjoying yourself.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible, you will have what you need to create.

It would help you if you wish to work on the kit supplied, to bring along Embroidery Threads, hoop, needles, and your basic sewing kit - I am sure you are all packing that and then some.

see you soon.

PS - I will have my pop up shop with supplies and also if I can fit it in a few Forever Always Items... if there is anything that you would like specifically please message me today so I can add it to my growing car packing pile.

Baradine CWA Drought Aid Pantry request for Helpl.

Hi ladies, hope you're all happily packing away for our fun adventure next weekend.

I am just putting my CWA Wauchope hat on - Some of you who are friends with me on facebook will have seen that over the last month I have been raising awareness via the CWA for the
 Baradine CWA Drought Aid Pantry.
I am coming laden with donations... but thought that some of you may like to help us out....

You have two hands.
One to help yourself,
the second for helping others.
We the CWA Wauchope Branch, want to lend our local hands to help support
CWA Baradine branch Drought Aid Pantry so we can support their local

I'm sad..but happy too

I am SAD because I am unable to come to Barradine this year
But I am HAPPY because I am attending my 37 year old daughter's Graduation Ceremony in Toowomba on the same Friday.
Have fun ladies...I will be thinking of you.
Julie Sullivan (Jewells)

Hello from New Zealand

HI everyone - I'm Raewyn from stitchingfarmgirl in New Zealand and I am also counting down the sleeps until Scrub Stitching - cant wait to meet you all and have a laugh or two - oh and do some sewing too :-)
Chooky told me it was ok to post the following —
I'm guessing most of you know about the terror attack that happened in Christchurch recently.
And some of you may be aware that people (from around the world) are busy making heart blocks to make into quilts for the victims' families, the survivors and the first responders.
You can read about it *here*.
I had the idea that it would be cool to ask if any of the retreat group would like to make a block (or two) and if there was a wee pile of them, I could piece a top while I am there.
Chooky said there is no block swap this year so some of you may be interested in making the odd heart block instead. (You could make it beforehand or while you're there.)

No pressure, no expectations. If it happens, it happens.

The blocks are 6½" unfinished size and can be pieced or appliqued. I would like GREEN ones please. However I will gather other colours if they're made and will send them off when I get home.
Please check *this link* for the details.
To give you an idea, here is the start I have made.

I'm trying to clear the spare bed so I can start my Scrub Stitching pile!! See you all soon!!!

A big Bit Sad

It's with much sadness that I have to say I can't make it to Scrub Stitchin next year. Its just a bad time for me.  It's my 60th and Bernie and I are going on a trip. I will miss you all and it was a very hard decision to make. I will be stalking this blog page though. I hope to get back on the list the next year.

A finish and a deposit

Just wanted to say that the latest instalment has been deposited, although it might take a day or so.

Back in June some of us went on a retreat to Glenrose in Warwick and I finished my bag. Okay so it has taken me a little while to post but here’s the proof.
