Scrubbers Block lotto.....

Hi Scrubbers.............

yes the silence here has been deadly but i'm back to annoy you all with some more information...........Sonia and I both are a little out of control and have been for a few months in our lives......we apologise for our absence but it's lucky we got most things organised early on......so do not fear things are in control..........but i hatched this hair brain idea a few weeks ago over a glass of champagne with Miss Kylie..........

All you need to do is make 2 blocks

can be the same block but two different colourways are needed to enter the draw for block lotto........

photo not doing best justice might try to get another one today.......

Colour way one  white and bright 

can be plain white or a white on white tonal background but bright fabrics in the block.............

here is a better pic of my bright colours..............

The other colourway is Creamy classic I added another photo below to get a better idea...........truer colours..........

cream or cream tonal like I used and country/reproduction type colours............

any of you making Lucy Bostons..........think those colours.............

it does not need to be the prints below but to fit in with them..........although on looking I think I have heaps of these prints below..........woops.........

BLOCK DETAILS

the blocks need to be 12.5in unfinished (12in finished - ie once sewn into a quilt)

you can make what ever block you want.......easy or hard it is up to you.........

Only took me about an hour to make both the blocks above and that was also choosing fabrics...........

SO WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE BLOCKS...........

well one person is drawn out as the winner.............

the winner gets to choose which pile of blocks they want to keep..........

white and bright or creamy classic...........

make up your own quilt to keep as a memory from the weekend.......

SO WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER PILE OF BLOCKS I HEAR YOU ASKING............

the other pile will be made into a quilt which will go to a needy cause/fundraiser/charity to be determined at a later date......

To enter the draw you need to make one bock in each colourway............

make two sets in both colourways you get two entries........

I really enjoyed this so think I am going to make another set with a another pattern........thinking churn dash for the creamy classic and I saw a funky arrow block I might try for the bright one..........

BUT if everyone did this......

if we got 36blocks (6x6) blocks we could make a quilt at least 72in square which is not a bad size

if we got 42 blocks (6x7)

we could make a quilt 72x84in

the bigger the better..........

Balance $230 on or before 28th February 2018

We also realise that with Christmas things get crazy, so we thought that some of you may like a payment plan, 12 payments as follows will have your retreat paid before the silly season.

it's just a matter of waiting it out now til we can confirm the date..............June is nearly here but not sure what date the meeting is we need to wait for.......but rest assured as soon as I know what it is I will let you all know............

MONEY/BANK ACCOUNT

We have set up a bank account that Sonia, Miss Jules and myself are signatories for..............The only money going into it will be for Scrub Stitchin'............

Anyway the other thing I wanted to say is if anyone wants to do regular small payments that will be fine too............I know for some it may be better budgeting wise so happy to accomodate...........you can start that anytime now.....just let me know what your planning...............

For the remainder of you once we have the final date we will have a payment schedule up so it is clear and you know whats happening............

Now you will be able to  bring what you want to sew with............hand sewing, machine sewing totally up to you..........

There are quiet a few power points in the room and they are looking at upgrading those numbers anyway regardless and that should be done before we come so perfect.............

we will probably need to bring some extension cords and power boards but that's easy and we will sort closer to the retreat.............

You know you two, one thing about our past stitching day was looking forward to our project and the designer!!!  Now before you two crack it and say this is NOT GDITC. I know that.
BUT  it would be nice for all of us to have a little something to look forward to don't you think ????????

I know I'm busting, and so is Chooky,  to Share what we schemed, plotted and planned in my last visit.     But........we would have to kill you.

So in honour of the shearing, that was done and still being done.

Even more excited

My family didn't think I would ever organise another one but with Chooky's excitement and my enthusiasm, we are both keeping each other on a high. Today I got to do some secret squirrel work and oh that just got me as excited as Chooky and this image sums me up.

You girls are in for a wonderful weekend away, just quietly. But can you hear us squealing like little girls filled with excitement.

Easter Adventures -Take 4!!

OK ... This is about the fourth time I've tried to post this ... Blogging ap is NOT playing nice. SIGH! Please excuse mistakes  that might have slipped through because I can't edit.

Let's try this again ... Silly blogging ap swallowed my first attempt to catch up. GRRRRR!

So ... Hello to all of you gorgeous blogging buddies out there! I hope you had a relaxing Easter break. I had so many plans & so many good intentions to do lots of sewing. Hmmm ... !! I DID spend some time with pencil & paper working on a new quilt design, but our original plans kind of got derailed. Nothing bad happened ... The plans just kinda changed! :0)

We had a couple of errands to run on Saturday & instead of coming home afterwards, we ended up taking one of our impromptu road trips. :0) We didn't really go too far afield, just explored some more side roads & backroads to see what we could see.

We traveled some gravel roads ...

... Crossed wild & raging rivers :0) ...

... Enjoyed some pretty scenery ...

... Admired some interesting flora (love those great grass trees!) ...

... Found the back of one of our local dams (you can see a flash of water there if you look closely!) ...

... We even confused the satnav a few times! Usually I'm the one getting lost! Tee! Hee! Hee! ...

... And we eventually found ourselves at a local national park that we'd been meaning to visit. And off we went for a walk to see ...

The falls. Such a pretty spot & lovely & green at the moment after our recent rain.

This is the pool at the base of the falls. I'm sure there is a bunyip lurking in the depths. :0)

Some of the local wildlife! Tee! Hee! Hee! And then we had to walk back to the car ... Which included walking back up 957 000 steps!!! OK ... Maybe there weren't really quite that many steps but my poor short, podgy little legs sure felt like there were!!! :0P We slept pretty well that night! Tee! Hee! Hee!

Yet again we had a great time exploring our local area ... There are so many hidden valleys & lush forest areas to enjoy, & most of them are only just off the usual track.

We also had lunch visits with both sets of parents ... Always nice to spend time with family. :0)

And then we ran out of weekend ... Don't you just hate it when that happens?! :0) What did you get up to for the long weekend? Did your plans work out? Or were you like us & took a detour off the map? :0) Whatever you got up to I hope you had at least a little bit of time to be creative. And I hope the rest of the week is wonderful for you. Another thing I didn't manage to do was catch up on some sleep ... So I'm off to keep ad date with my pillow. :0) Til next time ...

This will definitely be either side of easter in 2018...........I have updated the first post but the earlier date in March is wiped out now..........

We cannot confirm the date until the Baradine Show date is confirmed as they need the venue and we want the date most that they have been allocated and they don't want it............

this will be in June when they go to a meeting

Sonia and I met up again this week and we have decided for the first one will have max numbers at 30-33  40.........

We want to ensure we have plenty of room to eat and sew without having to pack up for meals.............

I know some of you have said you are paying the $20 deposit but keep an eye on the top right sidebar.......Once I have it your name  will be added to the list..........

I know some of you have said you are coming and paying but either you have not done it or its taking a long time.........did you put in the right details????

But there is probably another 10 people to add already............

I will add your name once I can see who the payment is in the bank............I know I had 3 last night which just said "interbank credit transfer" this morning they updated with more info but I still need to be a detective for some payments......they usually take a few days for payments to transfer esp the first time you pay someone new.......

BUT 

the good news is going on indications this is definitely happening...........I'll try and work out a max number with Sonia tonight.......

As they say "first in best dressed".......

we need room to sit and eat then hop up and move to the sewing space without having to pack anything up.............

We are scattered all over the place........
